What is Comhairle na nÓg?
The County Development Boards in the City and County Councils in Ireland are responsible for running Comhairle na nOg (local youth councils).
Their objective is to give children and young people a voice at a community level. There are 34 City/County Development Boards in the 26 counties, and each of these runs their own Comhairle na nÓg, sometimes in co-operation with local youth services.
